The university started itstrip in the year 2010 at the initiative of some Sudanese in the diaspora tocontribute in widening the private education base and develop it as universityfor all the people of the country at home or abroad under the slogan: Privacyof the name, universality of admission.

Almughtaribeen Universityis considered one of the most successful investment projects for Sudaneseworking abroad. It is considered a smart partnership between expatriates andthe public and private sectors. 


The University aims to be a center of excellence and a hub for managing change for the better, and leads the quest for an advanced Sudan that proceeds towards prospects of advanced development and proper strategic planning.

The mission of the university is to provide additional opportunities for higher education, contribute to the service and development of society, and the consolidation of the noble human values and their dissemination, this in addition to supporting scientific research, and seeking to localize modern technologies, and benefiting from experiences gained by expatriates abroad,.


The University has seven faculties at the undergraduate level, in addition to the college of postgraduate studies and scientific research, Preparatory College and Community Service Centre plus the Institute for Migration, asylum and Development Studies.

The University hosts about five thousands students who include an rated number of foreign students from various African and Arab countries.

Almughtaribeen University is proud that it is one of the modern universities that are concerned with community service and development especially rural communities, according to the method of teaching based on problem-solving which begins from its first study level, and the study programme ends with a course on rural residency and community development with regard to health, awareness and environmental sanitation.


Due to the Universities’keenness on applying the quality of education in accordance with internationalstandards, the application and measurement of which is considered one of themost important indicators of the progress and awakening of nations. In thisregard, the university presented a national initiative to reform public andhigher education to keep pace with the world revolution in technicaldevelopment, knowledge and information and to fit with the outcomes of theWorld Economic Forum in Davos in regard to education. The initiative aims atformulating a national vision for public and higher education, focusing onstudents’ acquisition of knowledge and skills for self-education and the use ofmodern technology, scientific research and knowledge production. The initiativealso aimed to promote interest in technical, vocational and craft education tosupport sustainable development.


Almughtaribeen University embarked on academic evaluation and accreditation procedures for their importance in measuring performance efficiency and effectiveness of the educational institutions; and all this is done under the supervision of the National Authority for Assessment and Accreditation at the National Ministry of Higher Education. For this purpose the University formed nine accreditation committees in addition to institutional accreditation. The University has been also chosen, within sixteen universities. The University was selected among 16universities that applied to the Medical Council to obtain international accreditation for the College of Medicine according to the international standards.

The University also started preparing the list of the distinguished professor, which is an honorary degree to be awarded to the professor has retired from work at the top of his academic end eavour, scientific research and community service; plus his contributions that led to the development of the university. The University also adopted the faculty member system to benefit from immigrant competencies. This system provides the university with competencies in the fields of teaching and scientific research at a low cost.


The University hasagreements with a number of ministries, government departments, universities,research centres, the Organization for Sudanese Affairs Abroad and local,regional and international organizations to strengthen relations, cooperationand exchange of expertise in the fields of scientific research, and toimplement programs, plans and projects related to community development withthe Ministry of Social Development, the Supreme Council for Children, theNational Organization for Migration Issues, the World Federation of ScientificInstitutions and the Gil Center for Scientific Research in Algeria and otherscientific and educational institutions.


The University has agreements with a number of ministries, government departments, universities ,research centres, the Organization for Sudanese Affairs Abroad and local, regional and international organizations to strengthen relations, cooperation and exchange of expertise in the fields of scientific research, and to implement programs, plans and projects related to community development with the Ministry of Social Development, the Supreme Council for Children, the National Organization for Migration Issues, the World Federation of Scientific Institutions and the Gil Center for Scientific Research in Algeria and other scientific and educational institutions.

     The University has adopted an e-learning programme supervised by the Information Technology Centre, which was established at th beginning of the 2021-2022 Academic year, as an idea after the Koruna pandemic and economic conditionsThe university administration has adopted the strategic plan for e-learning which will begin to be implemented in joint cooperation between the Information Technology Centre with Yutisrevude University which is specialized in e-learning platforms.


Inline with a number of driving factors, it is the urgent need to develop the teaching and learning process, take advantage of education technology and  create a flexible and easy study environment, focusing on the needs of learners to achieve the objectives of the quality and excellence unit of the organization.

  Its vision for leadership in e-learning in terms of its use, dissemination and completion of the necessary strategic and advisory studies, scientific and practical studies, to shape the future of education and learning using innovative and modern methods. The most promising question is the application of e-learning to improve the students’ learning experience, enhance management performance, and support the teaching and learning process.

 

 Based on the community responsibility of Almughtaribeen University, and believing in the importance of linking the university to the issues of the homeland, the Forum for Thought, Peace and Development was established in 2016 by the decision of the University’president to oversee a national political, economic, and cultural activities in a way that ensures the quality of the outcome of scientific meetings to raise national issues of political, economic, social and cultural in preparation to come up with recommendations that contribute introduction of recommendations and proposals that contribute to achieving peace and development.

      The forum's vision was to be a forum for Sudanese academics, thinkers,intellectuals, researchers and politicians. The website of the University ofExpatriates is easy to access and communicate with the university'sdepartments, colleges and departments.

        The university's website includes the academic system, the e-mail, the web-portal system, university news, colleges and departments, faculty members and their academic activities, as well as students’ news and their academic, technical, sports activities.
