This course is designed to provide the wealth of information need for student and practitioners to succeed in the delivery of high-quality services.

BME 512: Biomedical Safety

Medical Ultrasound Imaging systems. Magnetic resonance.

BME 515: Biomedical Image Processing

Introduction to digital image processing, Digital Image Fundamentals, Image Transforms, Image Enhancement, Image Restoration, Image Segmentation, Representation and Description, Recognition and Interpretation, Image Compression.

BME 516: Physiological Modeling And Control Systems

Physiological modeling, Static analysis of physiological systems, Time Domain Analysis, Frequency domain analysis and Stability analysis of physiological systems.

BME 522: Medical photonics

General description and operation of lasers.

Biomedical laser beam delivery systems: optical fiber transmission characteristics, mirrored articulated arm characteristics, optics for beam shaping on tissues, features of routinely used biomedical lasers. Interaction and effects of UV – IR laser radiation on biological tissues (scattering and absorption in biological tissue penetration and effects of UV – IR laser radiation into biological tissues. Effects of Mid _ IR laser radiation, effects of near –IR laser radiation, and effects of visible – range laser radiation, effects of UV laser radiation. Effects of continuous and pulsed IR – Visible laser: Radiation associated temperature rise.

BME 518: Field Training

To expose students to the real working environment. The student will be able to relate theoretical knowledge with application in industry. The students will be able to develop skills in work ethics, communication, management, team work…etc. This program will establish close relationship between the University and the industry.
