Admission after first university year (Transfer and Bridging)

First: External Transfer:-

    External transfer means the transferring of a student from one academic establishment to another. Such transfer can occur in the national  and foreign educational establishments according to following bases and controls:-

- Student should attach  his/her Original School Certificate that he/she was admitted with.
- Student should attach his/her subject details certificate for subjects he studied at the college he/she is transfered from.

- Passing subjects of first year, or first and second semesters (for establishments that apply credited hours or semester system).
- University Degree holders may apply for study after fist year.

 Transfer Procedures:-

- Student applies for transfer to the Secretariat of Academic affairs- Department of Admission and Registration, and fills in the transfer form after paying set fees.
-
Student's application is sent through the Secretariat of Academic affairs- Department of Admission and Registration, to the Dean of concerned college and Head of concerned department to consider application and attachments in order to recommend level of study student can be admitted at , and any processing that should be done for subjects that student did not study and how.
- A letter is raised from Secretariat of Academic Affairs to Department of National and Foreign Education (DNFE) to approve the transfer.
- Transfer is done according to available vacancies to complete the planned admission number.
- Student is not to be registered or permitted to attend lectures until DNFE approval is received, student is recognized by the Public Administration for Admission (PAA) and given his/her university number.  

Special Rules for Transfer:

- Student applies for transfer to the Secretariat of Academic affairs- Department of Admission and Registration in sufficient time before study commencement so that registration should complete before 25% of the first semester has passed.

- Once student  has fulfilled all terms of transfer of this regulation, documents shall be send to DNFE and then to PAA in order to confirm his/her admission and bring his/her university number.

- Transfer student may not be registered in any department of a college until he obtains a written consent confirming his/her admission from the Secretariat of Academic affairs.   

- Secretariat of Academic affairs- Department of Admission and Registration is to inform student in case  his/her transfer is rejected. 

Second: Bridging or lifting:

bridging is meant to refer to the linking between different Higher Education phases (from Diploma program to Bachelor program 4-5 years) and this occurs according to following bases and controls:- 

- To attach a copy of  the Diploma details attested by PAA.
- To attach a copy of Sudan School Certificate ( SSC) or equivalence.
- Passing SSC in either of Academic or Technical section or equivalence.
- Passing the qualifying subjects for admission in the required Bachelor program.
- Fulfilling above mentioned terms in ONE School Certificate with ONE sitting number and of ONE date. 
- Bridging should be from a Diploma program to a Bachelor program  that is similar in specialty.

Terms of Bridging:

- Holding a Diploma with (Excellent grade) to be lifted in the same year.
- Holding a Diploma with (Very Good grade) to be lifted two years after obtaining the Diploma.
- Holding a Diploma with (Good grade) to be lifted three years after obtaining the Diploma.
- Holding a Diploma with (Pass grade) to be lifted four years after obtaining the Diploma. 

Bridging Procedures:

- Student applies for transfer to the Secretariat of Academic affairs- Department of Admission and Registration, and fills in the transfer form after paying set fees.
